About the Role
FWM is hiring for a experienced and reliable welders to join our team in Strasburg, Colorado. As a Miscellaneous Metals Fabricator, you will perform carbon steel welding and other related tasks, including grinding, layout, cutting, and material preparation according to job prints. You will need to calculate angles and dimensions, solve problems, and work efficiently in a noisy machine and fabrication shop environment.
Requirements
Valid Driver's License
Able to commute to Strasburg, CO 80136
Ability to pass a drug screening
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Proficient in English (written and verbal)
Capable of lifting 50 lbs. and physically fit to handle steel material and tools
Must acquire a basic set of hand tools within 30 days of hire
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in steel fabrication, construction, or shop fabrication
Pass MIG flat and vertical plate test prior to hiring
Knowledge of welding techniques: stick, MIG, and TIG
Experience with various materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Basic understanding of angles and ability to calculate pitch from rise and run
Proficient in reading blueprints and executing job duties accordingly
Ability to read and interpret weld symbols and tape measures
Preferred Qualifications:
Welding certifications
Familiarity with ASME/AISE standards
Knowledge of cutting techniques with chop saw, band saw, torch, and grinders
