    • 1,090 linear feet of guardrail

    • 1,152 linear feet of wall rail

  • Grand Staircase & Access Components

    • One architectural grand stair

    • Two custom-designed platforms and staircases

    • 13 access ladders placed throughout the roof for maintenance

    • 19 elevator pit ladders and sump pit grates

  • Utility & Safety Structures

    • Three central utility plant stairs

    • Loading dock stair with embedded angles

    • Site rails, trash gates, and pipe bollards

    • Full professional field measurements and site coordination

FMW's Expertise

Through our expertise in structural and miscellaneous metal fabrication, FMW delivered high-quality solutions that align with the hospital’s vision of a flexible and patient-centered facility. Our team's dedication to precision and excellence ensured that all components were crafted to the highest standards, supporting SCL Health's mission to provide advanced care efficiently.

Project Highlights

  • Advanced Design Integration FMW’s work supported a forward-thinking hospital layout, including decentralized nursing stations, convertible ICU rooms, and ample natural light via floor-to-ceiling windows.

  • Infrastructure with Purpose The hospital is designed to match real-world usage, replacing a 338-bed hospital with a right-sized 210-bed facility, focused on patient care efficiency and staff workflow.

  • Long-Term Community Impact As Wheat Ridge’s largest employer, the new Lutheran Medical Center will continue to drive economic growth while delivering world-class medical services for generations.

Enhancing Medical Infrastructure

This project illustrates FMW’s ability to engineer and deliver precision-built metal systems tailored for complex, safety-critical environments. Every component we fabricated—from elevator ladders to the signature grand stair—was crafted to meet the stringent performance and compliance standards demanded by healthcare infrastructure.

FMW is honored to have played a key role in the new Intermountain Health Lutheran Medical Center, a transformative project that will support the health and well-being of Colorado communities for the next 100 years. Our dedication to quality, innovation, and safety remains central to every project we undertake—especially those that touch lives daily.
